MARCH 1ST

FEB 28TH-

WELCOME

We are excited to announce our upcoming annual  Los Angeles Pastor’s and Leaders Conference  here at Calvary Chapel Downey on February 28th - March 1st, 2025.

These conferences serve to stir and encourage the local Pastors and Leaders in Los Angeles and Southern California. This year’s theme is BY FAITH.

In a world of constant change and amidst challenges in our faith, it is essential for the church to stand firm for righteousness, taking risks and leaps of faith that honor and please God. Let us press forward with courage, unwavering in our commitment to reach the lost and shepherd God's sheep faithfully as we eagerly await His triumphant return.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him”

CONFERENCE SPEAKERS

  • Raul Ries

At 77 years of age, Raul has seen his life transformed by the grace of God from an angry kid into a teacher of the Word. Both he and his ministry are built upon the vision that God gave him as a young Christian. Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Ries came to the US when he was 10 years old with his mother, brother and sister, leaving behind his abusive father. The ministry began in his home with a Bible study. Now in Diamond Bar with many ministries housed under one roof, the vision is still the same, win souls for Jesus Christ.

  • Don McClure

Don McClure grew up assuming he was a Christian, but it wasn’t until college that he truly encountered Christ’s love and power. After feeling called to ministry, he attended Capernwray Bible School and Talbot Seminary. He served under Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel, planted churches in Lake Arrowhead and Redlands, and founded Calvary Chapel Bible College. In 2002, he returned to Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, and later led Calvary Chapel of Laguna Beach. Now, Don and his wife Jean lead Calvary Way Ministries, teaching globally.

  • David Rosales

Pastor David Rosales was born in 1950 and spent the late 1960s involved in drug and alcohol abuse. After a near-overdose in 1970, he called out to God and later gave his life to Christ at a Maranatha! concert. Following Army service, he studied theology and was ordained in 1979. In 1981, he founded Calvary Chapel Chino Valley, which now has over 6,000 members. Supported by his wife Marie, Pastor David’s ministry includes a national radio show and global teaching efforts.

  • David Guzik

David has served in Christian ministry for over 40 years, including two church plants and seven years as a missionary in Germany, where he directed and taught at Calvary Chapel Bible College. He earned a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara in 1991 and, despite no formal seminary training during his pastoral years, completed his Master of Divinity from Calvary Chapel University in 2021. David has been married to Inga-Lill for over 41 years, and they have three adult children and three grandchildren.

  • Wade O'Neill

Pastor Wade served as an Associate Pastor under Pastor Raul Ries for 12 years, teaching weekly and overseeing events at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs. He also assists with Calvary Chapel Association Pastors’ Conferences and helps oversee Latin American churches. After prayerful consideration, Wade is now set to join Pastor Jack Abeelen at Morningstar Christian Chapel, becoming Senior Pastor in April 2025. Wade serves alongside his wife, Lauren, of 12 years, and together they have three daughters, eagerly anticipating this new season in ministry.

  • John Randall

John began attending Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in 1974, where he met his wife, Michelle. After serving in children’s, high school, and worship ministries, he joined Calvary Chapel Vista. In 1997, John and Michelle planted Calvary Chapel Brandon in Florida. After 10 years, they returned to Southern California, where John now pastors Calvary South OC. He has been in pastoral ministry for 30 years and hosts the radio program “A Daily Walk.” They have four children and two grandsons.

  • Ray Loo

Pastor Ray Loo is the founder and senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs. He seeks to lead those in the fellowship into a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus. He came to know Christ at the age of 16 after a friend invited him to attend Calvary Chapel Downey. He would go on to serve at Calvary Chapel Downey in the Jr High ministry. During this time, he connected with a group of young adults who had a passion and love for Jesus. Eventually, he would teach a home Bible study that would serve as the beginning of Calvary Chapel Santa Fe Springs.
